Manage shortcuts and conflicts

One inventory for hotkeys, aliases, snippet keywords and reserved macOS chords.

Read Markdown ↗

Settings → Shortcuts lists bindings across Redcast. Edit an alias or record a shortcut directly in its row; the change goes through the same controls used in the owning feature's settings.

Find a binding

Search by name, feature, alias, snippet keyword or key symbols. The filters are All, With Hotkey, With Alias, Conflicts and Disabled. Snippet keywords count in the alias-oriented view.

The list includes global actions, built-in commands, Quick Actions, custom commands, quicklinks, snippets, agents, extensions, Apple Shortcuts, window actions, layouts, rooms, system actions and apps or Settings panes with bindings.

Conflict types

ConflictWhat to change
Same shortcut on two entriesRebind or clear one of them
Overlapping modifier double-tap bindingsChoose a different modifier, side or chord
Same aliasGive each command a distinct alias
Same snippet keywordChange one keyword to make expansion unambiguous
A chord reserved by macOSPick another chord or deliberately change the macOS shortcut

The audit reports conflicts. It does not automatically remove a binding or change system settings. Two entries sharing an alias make Alias + Space fall back to ordinary search.

Disabled rows

A saved shortcut can be visible here while its feature is off. For example, an agent shortcut is inactive while AI is disabled, and extension commands are inactive while extensions are off. Enable the feature only if you want it to run; rebinding alone does not enable it.

Limits of detection

Redcast can inspect its own bindings and known macOS shortcuts. It cannot enumerate every global shortcut claimed by another app. If a chord looks clear but does nothing, check other running launchers and keyboard tools, then try a different chord.

For double-taps, held modifiers and Hyper configuration, see Hotkeys. For keyboard actions inside each screen, use the shortcut reference and the screen's ⌘K menu.
