What Redcast adds

How this fork relates to Tinycast, what is shared, and what has changed.

Redcast follows Tinycast, created by Abue Ammar. The launcher, native interface, clipboard, calculator, notes, snippets, windows and Raycast runtime come from that project. Redcast develops its own agent and AI workflows on top of that foundation.

Identity and compatibility

The installed product is Redcast, bundle ID io.redcast.app, and its site is redcast.io. Some technical names stay unchanged: the Xcode project is Tinycast.xcodeproj, backups use .tinycast, and deep links use tinycast://. These are intentional compatibility names.

Old fork installations used com.tinycast.app.fork. Redcast migrates their stored data on the first launch under the new ID. Migration explains the remaining manual steps.

Project history

The current repository includes the upstream history and the fork's work. The October 2026 changes introduce the Redcast identity, remove upstream's publishing infrastructure, add the chat workspace and full backup, and then add nested branches and multi-selection in the chat sidebar. The application documentation here was reviewed against d705abfc.

The original website used Fumadocs with Next.js. This handbook uses the same engine, adapting shared guides and adding Redcast's own. It is exported as static files and served alongside the existing landing page by Cloudflare Workers.

For a detailed development record, read FORK.md and the commit history. Roadmap items there are not promises of currently available features.
