Agent Sessions
Find and resume work from Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Redcast.
Run Search Agent Sessions to browse existing coding-agent conversations in the palette. It shows titles, prompts, folders, branches and a preview of recent turns. The feature reads local agent history; it does not upload those transcripts to a model.
Search and resume
Enable Agent Sessions in AI settings, then open its launcher command. Search for a title, project or remembered text. Return resumes the selected session in its working directory, using the provider's resume command, or reopens a Redcast conversation in AI Chat.
⌘R refreshes the list. History is read when the screen opens and released when it closes; there is no permanent transcript watcher.
Claude app sessions can be opened in the Claude app with ⌘O when a matching app session is available.
Which histories are supported
| Source | History | Optional live status |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | Read and resume | Yes, with reviewed hooks |
| Codex | Read and resume | Yes, with reviewed hooks |
| Gemini CLI | Read and resume | No |
| OpenCode | Read and resume | No |
| Redcast AI Chat | Open in AI Chat | Its own running-chat state |
An ACP session owned by Redcast is shown once as its Redcast chat.
Terminal choice
Automatic tries the terminal associated with the live session, otherwise the configured fallback. Terminal, iTerm2 and supported Ghostty versions can receive the resume command through Automation. Some terminal routes open the folder and copy the command instead; the HUD tells you to paste it.
If the directory no longer exists or the provider command is missing, fix that before resuming. Redcast cannot restore project files that were moved or deleted.
Non-default history folders
Settings has Claude Code folder and Codex folder fields. Empty means ~/.claude and ~/.codex. Use these when the CLI uses another configuration directory: a GUI app cannot assume it sees your shell's environment variables.
Turn live status off before changing these paths. The fields lock while Redcast's hooks are installed so events cannot keep pointing at the old folder.
Optional live status
Live status adds small hooks to Claude Code and Codex. Settings shows the exact files and diff before you choose Turn On. Redcast backs up the originals and touches only its own handlers. Turning it off removes its handlers after another review.
Jump to Agent brings forward an agent's terminal when it needs attention. Optional menu bar rows and HUDs show working, waiting and completed states. These hooks do not turn Gemini or OpenCode into live-monitored providers.
Privacy and troubleshooting
History files and databases are opened for reading. Hook files change only through the review flow. Live-status setup does not travel in a backup.
If sessions are missing, check the selected history folder and refresh. If resuming opens a folder but does not type, follow the HUD's copied-command instruction or grant Automation for the selected terminal. If live status is stale after a CLI update, review the hook setup again.
